What is EigenLayer, and how does restaking work?

EigenLayer is a restaking protocol on Ethereum. Restaking lets assets that already secure Ethereum — staked ETH, liquid staking tokens, or the EIGEN token — be committed again to help secure additional services called AVSs (Actively Validated Services), such as data-availability layers, oracles, and bridges. You delegate your restaked assets to an operator like InfStones, who runs the actual validation infrastructure for the AVSs it supports. Delegation assigns validation rights only — your assets stay in EigenLayer's non-custodial smart contracts, never with InfStones.

Is there a minimum amount to restake?

For liquid restaking (liquid staking tokens, the EIGEN token, or supported ERC-20s) there is no protocol minimum — you can restake and delegate any amount, with gas being the only practical floor. Native ETH restaking requires running an Ethereum validator (32 ETH).

How long before I start receiving rewards?

Rewards accrue on an ongoing basis, and EigenLayer distributes them on a weekly cycle, with a claim window that opens every Tuesday. Claiming is manual — you pull your accrued rewards through the EigenLayer dApp. To earn, the operator you delegate to must be active with at least one AVS, and an operator commission (around 10%) is taken before your share is distributed.

Is there a lock-up (withdrawal) period?

There is no fixed lock-up while you are restaked, but exiting takes time. When you withdraw, your assets enter an escrow period of about 14 days before they can be moved, and they earn no rewards during that window. Native ETH restaking can take longer once the Ethereum exit queue is included.

Is there any slashing risk?

Yes. EigenLayer slashing is live, but it is opt-in: your delegated assets are only exposed if the operator you choose opts into a slashable service and then fails to meet its conditions, in which case a portion of the delegated stake can be penalized. InfStones runs professional, carefully monitored infrastructure and manages which services it secures to keep this risk low.

What rewards can I expect?

Restaking rewards are variable and depend heavily on which AVSs your operator secures and on EigenLayer's incentive programs, so there is no fixed rate. Restaking typically adds a modest yield on top of base Ethereum staking, and a meaningful portion of rewards can come from EIGEN token incentives rather than fee revenue. Treat any advertised figure as an estimate, not a guarantee, and check current rates before committing.

How do I stop restaking?

You submit an undelegate transaction in the dApp, which automatically queues your assets for withdrawal. After the roughly 14-day escrow period you complete a second transaction to move your assets back to your wallet — or you can re-delegate to another operator instead.
