InfStones Updates: Staking Summit, Validator Opportunities, and 0G AI Research

We were thrilled to participate in Devcon 2024, the annual conference of the Ethereum community! The Ethereum Foundation has been hosting DevCon since 2014 to improve collaboration and innovation within the blockchain community. DevCon 2024 followed this tradition with a four-day event (November 12 to 15, 2024) at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand. This year's event brought together over 12,000 attendees, doubling the number from the previous year, and also featured a diverse lineup of speakers, including Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Aya Miyaguchi, the Ethereum Foundation's executive director.

InfStones Attends DevCon! 

  InfStones was proud to participate in the Staking Summit 2024, held on November 8-9 in Bangkok, Thailand. Rudy, our Director of Product, represented InfStones, engaged with the Proof of Stake (PoS) blockchain community, and returned with valuable insights. About the Staking Summit Staking Summit is an annual event organized by Staking Rewards for the Proof of Stake (PoS) blockchain ecosystem. Since its inception in 2022, it has become a platform for validators, protocols, institutions, and blockchain enthusiasts to connect and discuss the future of staking. Previous editions were held in Lisbon, Portugal, and Istanbul, Turkey, with this year’s event drawing over 1,000 attendees from around the globe. Highlights of 2024 This year’s summit featured 80+ distinguished speakers, including industry leaders like Vitalik Buterin, Sunny Aggarwal, Fisher Yu, Keone Hon, and Tarun Chitra. Discussions covered a wide range of critical topics, such as: Bitcoin Staking: Exploring staking opportunities in the Bitcoin ecosystem. Restaking: Unlocking new layers of utility and security in staking mechanisms. LSTfi (Liquid Staking Tokens Finance): Advancing liquid staking solutions and their impact on DeFi. Governance and Staking Challenges: Addressing scalability, decentralization, and security in PoS networks. InfStones at the Summit Throughout the event, we actively connected with the community, built new relationships, and strengthened relationships with our existing partners. We also attended side events to discuss blockchain infrastructure, validator performance, and protocol advancements. These conversations further strengthen our focus on improving the PoS ecosystem with reliable staking infrastructure. Looking Ahead Undoubtedly, the insights and connections gained at Staking Summit 2024 inspire us to contribute to the evolution of staking technologies. We’re excited to bring these ideas into our product innovations and collaborations as we move forward. InfStones Attends Staking Summit! 

On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, we co-sponsored the Validator & Node Operator Summit with bloXroute at DevCon in Bangkok. Our Director of Product, Rudy, represented InfStones and joined a panel to discuss "Scaling the Validator Ecosystem: Opportunities and Challenges." The panel discussed several issues, including recent developments, current challenges, and the role of validators in the Ethereum ecosystem. Preconfirmations A key topic of discussion was preconfirmations and their impact on transaction speeds. Rudy and the other panelists explored how preconfirmations benefit both validators and users in that validators are rewarded by delivering preconfirmation. In contrast, users get to experience a significant decrease in transaction latency—from 12 seconds to 0.1 seconds. This progress also makes Ethereum much more practical for high-frequency applications and use cases. Centralized vs. Decentralized Models The panel also revisited the ongoing debate between centralized and decentralized approaches. They acknowledged that while centralized models tend to dominate in the early stages of adoption due to their speed and efficiency, decentralized models hold greater long-term potential once they overcome their coordination challenges. Challenges and Future Innovations in Scaling Validator Networks Scaling challenges were also mentioned. The panel discussed how Ethereum's staking 32 ETH requirements, for example, can limit participation. This part of the conversation also extended beyond Ethereum and explored the progressing role of validators. Protocols like EigenLayer and oracles now depend on validators for tasks beyond transaction validation, such as price reporting and executing decentralized workloads, which further emphasizes validators' role as the backbone of various decentralized systems, not just blockchain networks. Looking forward, the panel explored how newer technologies like preconfirmations, sidecars, and re-staking could reshape validator infrastructure. While third-party providers like MEV-Boost and bloXroute often drive these innovations, there was an emphasis on validators effectively integrating these technologies to ensure optimal integration for their users.  Final Thoughts The session provided valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges that validators face today. For InfStones, it was also an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to supporting the validator ecosystem with scalable and future-proof infrastructure. As validators take on more critical roles in decentralized systems, we look forward to continuing our work in building solutions that meet both current and future demands.

The AMA kicked off with introductions from all participants. Working with Router Protocol Validators, including InfStones, shared their positive experiences working with Router Protocol, emphasizing the protocol's seamless integration and robust support. The discussion highlighted the importance of decentralization, with validators showcasing the global distribution of their nodes.  Validators also discussed the technical aspects of their operations, including strategies to prevent slashing, the use of personal hardware and high-standard data centers, and the effective monitoring of node performance. Crypto Staking Reimagined: EigenLayer's New Approach & More

InfStones' recent response to a potential vulnerability demonstrates our steadfast commitment to robust blockchain security. The issue, identified back in July 2023, involved the open-source library Tailon and affected a small percentage of live nodes. Swift action was taken to remove Tailon, close vulnerable ports, and reinforce security protocols. InfStones, a leading blockchain infrastructure provider offering scalable PaaS, announced the release of its highly secure Ethereum validator service, designed to arrive just in time to serve the growing needs that will arise as a result of Ethereum’s long-awaited Shanghai upgrade which is currently expected to take place in April 2023.

We’re proud to announce that we’re collaborating with Obol Labs to research and test distributed validator technology (DVT). Obol Labs is a research and software development team that is building Proof-of-Stake infrastructure technologies for Ethereum. It is currently focused on developing the Obol Network, an ecosystem for trust-minimized staking that enables people to create, test, run, and coordinate distributed validators. Obol is funded by reputable investors such as Pantera Capital, Archetype, Nascent, Placeholder, and BlockTower.

Ethereum’s Shanghai upgrade officially went live on April 12th. InfStones’ staking service fully supports ETH staking and withdrawals. Staking ETH on our platform is 100% secure, and institutional investors can batch launch up to 1,000 validators at a time. InfStones’ ETH staking service also allows investors to stake less than 32 ETH at a time. This makes it significantly more accessible for retail investors as compared to many other services that require a minimum of 32 ETH. InfStones is the longest-running staking service provider in the global market and has been operating ETH validators for more than 800 consecutive days with zero slashing. You can begin staking ETH on the InfStones platform with one simple click.

In an announcement, blockchain infrastructure provider InfStones said that it's expecting a heightened market demand for ETH staking as the Shanghai upgrade comes. Capitalizing on the event, the platform said that it is aiming to attract more participants to the Ethereum ecosystem by creating an easier staking experience through its validator service.

You can now stake any of these protocols’ tokens on the InfStones platform to earn rewards. Assets can be staked with just a few clicks, and rewards can be easily tracked. InfStones Adds Staking Support for 7 New Cosmos Ecosystem Protocols, and More!

In February, InfStones collaborated with CoreDAO to serve as an API service provider and a validator for its network. In addition to collaborating with CoreDAO, InfStones also participated in the SUI Wave 2 testnet last month. This testnet was the second of four waves that will stress test the SUI network to make sure that its tokenomics design and implementation are sound and free of errors and bugs.
