ZAMA Selects InfStones as Genesis Operator

We are excited to announce that InfStones has been selected as a Genesis Operator for Zama, the pioneering Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) protocol that brings native confidentiality to public blockchains. As one of the network's few Genesis Operators, InfStones will play a critical role in securing and operating Zama's confidential computation infrastructure from day one.

Why Zama

Zama is building a Confidential Blockchain Protocol that uses Fully Homomorphic Encryption to make confidentiality a native property of public blockchains. Unlike traditional privacy solutions, Zama's encrypted computation layer runs on top of existing L1 and L2 networks like Ethereum — keeping data confidential while reusing existing consensus and liquidity.

Public blockchains are designed for radical transparency: every transaction, balance, and state change is visible to anyone. While powerful for auditability, this openness creates significant challenges for use cases involving sensitive data — trading strategies, treasury flows, salaries, lending positions, and identity attributes become permanent public exposure. For institutions subject to confidentiality and data-protection regulations, this transparency often makes public chain deployment impossible.

Zama solves this with FHE, enabling computations to run directly on ciphertext. Validators can process transactions and update state without ever seeing the underlying values. Developers use Solidity with the FHEVM library, users encrypt inputs client-side, and contract state lives onchain as ciphertext while the host chain provides consensus and settlement. A decentralized network of FHE coprocessors handles encrypted computation, and a threshold MPC-based Key Management System distributes decryption authority so no single operator can access user data.
